This Privacy Policy (Policy) describes how Drive Fore The Future (“DFTF”) treats customer personal information on the website from US residents and serves as our notice to you regarding this use.


This Policy describes our current practices with respect to how DFTF collects, shares, and protects your personal information. From time to time, we may change our Policy. Updated changes will be available on the website so please check our website periodically for updates.

Notice at Collection
We collect information from and about you in order to provide and continually improve our products and services. Here are the types and categories of information we collect:

·     Contact information, such as name, mailing and e-mail address, phone number for registration and donation/purchase management;

·     Information provided on website forms related to your inquiries;

·     Information we receive from your telephone/SMS, or email inquiries;

·     Information from publicly available sources, which may include updated delivery and address information from our carriers or other third parties (such as web directories);

·     Information you submit online such as postings on social media platforms

·     Activity information about your use of our sites and applications, such as the content you view or post, how often you use our services, and your preferences

 

Because your donations/purchases are made directly through third party e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Stripe, PayPal or similar, we do not receive your payment information at any time.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, as defined by California law, for inferring characteristics or for purposes other than those permitted by law. We keep information as long as is necessary or relevant for the practices described in this Policy or as required by law.

We Use Collected Information as described here
We use your personal information to provide and improve our services, provide you with a personalized experience on our sites, contact you about your account and our services, provide you customer service, provide you with personalized advertising and marketing, or to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.

Periodically, we may send marketing materials or other information to you and will also use personal information to send such communications, and as otherwise set forth in this Policy. You can always choose not to provide personal information to the website.

Agents, Consultants and other Third Parties

You can opt out of receiving our marketing emails
To stop receiving our promotional emails follow the instructions in any promotional message you get from us. Even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages such as messages about your donation/order. These include responses to your questions.

Shine the Light
Under California law, our Customers who are residents of California may request certain information about our disclosure of personal information during the prior calendar year to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us in the “you can contact us” section below. Mark your message “Shine the Light.”

We combine information we collect from different sources
We combine offline and online information. We also combine information across multiple devices. We also combine information we get from a third party with information we already have about you.

Your Privacy Rights

1.  Access: to learn the categories of information we collect and use, and for those in California, the categories of sources of collection and disclosure and the business purpose for collection;

2.  Portability: a copy of (Virginia) or specific pieces of (California)personal information collected;

3.  Deletion: to have us delete information we collected from you;

4.  Correction: asking us to fix your information; and

5.  Non-retaliation: not to be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

 

How it works:
When you submit your request to info@driveftf.org, we use information you provide to verify your request. We do this by matching the information you provide with information we already have about you. In some situations we may not be able to process your request. This may include if a legal exception applies. If you disagree with our decision, you can contact us as described at the end of this policy.

Nevada residents: you may also opt out of the future sale of their information to a third party so that they may license or sell that information by emailing us at noted at the end of this notice.

Third party agents: If you are submitting a request on behalf of an eligible resident, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity. This may include providing proof that you are registered with the Secretary of State to act on someone’s behalf or proof of a power of attorney. You may also submit a copy of the consumer’s signed permission to submit the specific request.

Notice of Right to Opt-out of Sale of your Information or Sharing for Cross-Contextual Behavioral Advertising: You can opt out of the sale of your personal information or the sharing of your personal information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising by clicking on our Cookie Consent Tool and toggling the button to “inactive” for cross-contextual behavioral advertising cookies. You can also configure your browser to tell websites not to share your information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising through a “global privacy control ”signal. We will respond to this signal in a frictionless manner. If you configure this setting on your browser, certain features on our site may not work and you will receive less targeted advertising.

Information That Is Not Covered By This Privacy Policy
We may allow you to communicate with other users of the website and post information using message boards and other similar features available through the website. NONE of the information that you provide using these features is protected by this Privacy Policy.

DFTF may also use online survey instruments to obtain feedback on your experience with the website. The survey initiation pops up for a random sample of visitors, is voluntary and does not collect personal information. If you decline the survey you will still have access to the same information and resources of the Site as those who do take the survey. The survey reports are available only to the website’s managers and other staff who require this information to perform their duties. DFTF retains the data from the survey results in accordance with its data retention policy.

Social Media and Third Party Websites
DFTF uses some social media tools and websites to interact with its customers and resource partners. Social media websites are used to publicize DFTF programs and services and engage with members of the public. DFTF does not use third party websites to solicit and collect personal information from individuals. DFTF’s privacy and other web policies do not apply to these third party websites and we encourage you to read the policies of the third party website when deciding whether to use it.

Data Retention
DFTF may retain your personal information as long as necessary for the provision of the services, internal analytical purposes, or to comply with its legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements(e.g. settlement). The criteria used to determine the retention periods include: (i) how long the personal data is needed to provide the services and operate the business; (ii) the type of personal data collected; and (iii)whether we are subject to a legal, contractual or similar obligation to retain the data (e.g., mandatory data retention laws, government orders to preserve data relevant to an investigation, or data that must be retained for the purposes of litigation or disputes).

Website Security and Safeguarding of Information
DFTF maintains physical, technical and administrative safeguards and other procedural controls in accordance with applicable data protection laws and other pertinent regulatory bodies to safeguard personal information. These controls include computer safeguards and secured files and offices.

Children
DFTF does not sell products for purchase or request donations from children. In order to respect the privacy of minors, DFTF does not knowingly collect, maintain or process personal information submitted online via our Internet Services by anyone under the age of 18.

Revisions to this Privacy Policy
We may revise or supplement this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use or share your personal information, we will notify you by posting a notice on our website, prior to the change becoming effective.
