Coach Kevin Kennedy from Omaha South High School reached out to Drive Fore The Future, hoping to find support for his boys and girls golf teams. As with many high school programs, his teams face the challenge of limited resources, often relying on outdated, hand-me-down equipment. Despite this, Coach Kennedy works hard to introduce his students—most of whom have never played golf before—to a sport that can seem out of reach.
Understanding the need for a strong foundation, we wanted to make sure these athletes had the tools necessary to succeed. For the girls' fall season, Drive Fore The Future stepped in to provide a variety of gear, including new polos, hoodies, golf balls, tees, rain gear, and even a launch monitor for off-season practice. Having access to this equipment means both teams can train more effectively, stay comfortable on the course, and maintain their skills even when practice moves indoors.
Looking ahead to the boys' season next spring, Coach Kennedy identified a pressing need for clubs, as many of the students were playing with old or borrowed sets. We were happy to address this by providing seven brand-new sets of clubs, ensuring that each player has equipment suited to their needs.
Our partnership with Coach Kennedy and Omaha South High School has been incredibly rewarding. It’s clear that with the right resources and support, these young athletes have the potential to develop and grow in a sport that they’re only just beginning to explore. We look forward to continuing our involvement in the spring and watching their progress as they take on new challenges.
